Our new single “This Is How It Feels” is Download Of The Day on RollingStone.com. Get it now. Some words from Neil:

“‘This Is How It Feels’ was one of the first tracks we worked on together. Nick and i originally started working round a keyboard riff that came from somewhere else…an old tune or demo…not sure ….but …it fitted with a bass line Nick had been playing around with. The chorus was the first part that came together and as with all the tracks on the record it evolved into it’s present form over quite a period of time. The version we sent to Mark to add parts too was quite different and it was a while before we had verse and melody together. The song bounced between myself , Mark and Nick several times… each time coming back pretty different…the WTF factor was pretty strong. “What the Fxxk !” was generally my response when the tunes eventually made their way back …. It was a fun way to work… The musical equivalent of Chinese whispers….

My favourite thing on this one is the big chorus with two drum kits going crazy. Our friend Caroline Banks came in one day and went nuts for half an hour…….we love her drumming. …i think we must have decided at some point that we wanted a big Spectorish feel to that part of the song…”

They’ve all worked together for years on various projects and now team up to give us wide-ranging double-LP that could only come from a band with this much talent and experience. A gorgeously-textured yet experimental album, it’s rich tapestry of sound creates an almost synaesthesic experience, overflowing with enraptured, glowing textures, flaring white light like magnesium, in consort with brilliant red-blue waves of psychedelia.
